Here is my newest toy.. It hasn’t become a toy yet cause I really didn’t have time to get my hands dirty with it. I am so busy these days I cannot even believe myself that I still couldn’t find time to really get to know the N97!
first thing I noticed when I started to play with it was the 30MB free space on drive C: It was a disappointment. I have at least 20 3rd party apps installed on my N95 8GB but I still have at least 90MB free on the C: drive. I always install the software I need to run fast on drive C: in fact I install everything on drive C on the N95. But with N97 I think I will only have Opera mini installed on drive C. I really need to check the difference in speed if an app is installed on C: or D: or even E: (sandisk micro sd 8gb class 2)
Second thing I notice with N97 is how easy it is to type using the qwerty keypad. I am really, really IMPRESSED! The worst compact qwerty experience I have is sony UX micro pc! It is really terrible. When I used the N810 I was a lot happier with the feel of the keys on it. But Nokia N97 is by far the easiest qwerty device I I have ever used. I NEVER want to mainly use touchscreen.. In fact I think touch interface just should be there to speed up things. For example (without thinking) if you see something on the screen like “OK” or “OPTIONS” lets say.. I want the phone touch enabled because when I see something on the screen If my hand goes to it I do not want to remind myself that the screen is not touch enabled therefore try to find the dedicated key. But I never would buy a phone that dumps the keypad. But Nokia did an amazing job with N97 it is so easy to use the alpha numeric keypad or qwerty and just use the touchscreen to speed things up!
AMAZING JOB, REALLY..
